Since the dawn of time people have expressed themselves in stories, to wile away the time, entertain an audience, warn the next generation or perhaps, point to a brighter future.  It is in our DNA to tell stories.  

I created Inscription because without the continued sustenance and support of theatre, film and TV scriptwriters, what we see on our stages and screens could turn out to be flat and uninspiring.

It is my impression that scriptwriters are not only often overlooked, they can also be artistically under-nourished. Such an unusual lot for the creator or genesis of a great story. Why wouldn't the creators of stories be cherished, paid well and brought "into the centre," to renew our focus on the possibilities of the imagination and the magic of narrative?

Inscription's motto is "Your Story." We are keenly aware that the each writer brings with them their "baby" to our door - each at a different stage of development - but all equally precious. I want to welcome each scriptwriter and their story into our midst and offer a great experience; one that will bolster their project and their careers.

I want to help Australian scriptwriters, from all different sectors (hence the reason we offer 8 different awards - e.g - Indigenous, Regional, Youth, Grey Matter) of the community to have their talents recognised and celebrated, their voices heard and their stories told, to stimulate a nation and perhaps, a world.
